JUNIOR THEATRE FESTIVAL 2022
The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater. JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!
DATES OF FESTIVAL: February 18-20, 2022 in Sacramento, CA.
COST:
ACADEMY STUDENTS
$750 per student (includes adjudication performance)
ACADEMY TRIAL STUDENT PACKAGE
$999 per student (includes adjudication performance) and 3 months of Academy Classes.
(October, November, and January 2022, additional rehearsals as scheduled)
CHAPERONE TICKETS/PARENT TICKETS: $400
$150 non-refundable deposit due when signing up. (unless insurance is purchased)
PAYMENT OPTIONS
$150 Deposit, 3 split payments of remaining balance due October 2021, November 2021 & January 2022. Payments are due by the 5th of the month.

There is a $30 late fee for any payments after the split payment due date.
INSURANCE: We highly recommend purchasing the insurance upon registration. THIS INSURANCE IS ONLY FOR PERSONAL ILLNESS, DEATH, ETC. If you add that option, you will be refunded the amount you paid upon registration. For example, if you paid $150 upon registration, the insurance coverage would reimburse you $150. Please read the conditions so that you are fully aware of coverage options. The cost is a percentage of the total costs.
COVID 19/EVENT CANCELATION: We do not anticipate the event being cancelled. THE JTF Fees would be refunded or credited by iTheatrics if a cancelation happens. The remainder of the fees paid would not be refunded except for food costs.
OPTIONAL HOTEL: Official festival hotels for JTF West are the Hyatt Regency Sacramento and Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. Starbound Theatre will have a room available for parents and students to leave their belongings and where we will be hosting some meals. Pick up and Drop Off will take place at the Convention Center.
MANDATORY REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be one week per month (Wednesdays & Fridays) during Shining Stars classes.
FUNDRAISING: We are offering an opportunity to fundraise the cost of the festival. Please contact us for info on how to fundraise.
FOOD: Included in the cost will be Saturday lunch and dinner. Sunday lunch is also included. Snacks and water for the weekend will also be provided.
CHAPERONES: If you would like to join us, you will be chaperoning 4 students at the festival. The cost would be $400 which would include meals (Sat lunch & dinner, Sun lunch) and Starbound Merchandise. Deposit of $150 due when registering, remaining balance due by November 2021.
PARENT TICKETS: Parents can choose to attend the events and NOT chaperone. Cost is $400 for parents. Deposit of $150 due when registering. Starbound Merchandise would be included. Meals can be added for an additional fee of $50. All fees due by November 2021.
JTF Key Events Include:
Adjudication
Student groups perform 15 minutes from MTI’s Broadway Junior Collection musical for adjudication by leading theater professionals. Groups are rated in the areas of music, acting, dance and overall performance. The adjudicators offer constructive criticism to each group to encourage further learning in key areas.
Workshops for Students and Teachers
Broadway professionals and master teachers from across the country offer interactive workshops! Workshops are for both teachers and students in all aspects of musical theater performance and technical theater.
JTF All-Stars
Selected student performers and student technicians are chosen as festival All-Stars. All-Stars participate in exclusive workshops and are given the opportunity to be a major part of the Freddie G Awards Ceremony.
DVD Auditions Choreography
Selected students are invited to audition for Broadway Junior Resident Choreographer Steven G. Kennedy for future Broadway Junior Choreography DVD shoots!
New Works Showcase

Pathways
A one-of-a-kind mainstage event hosted by Junior Theater Festival creator, Tim McDonald, featuring a discussion with interesting folks from across the theatrical industry about their unique journeys and remarkable accomplishments.
Tech Olympics
Four students from each group compete in this fun, high energy tech obstacle course designed to get everyone pumped up about technical theater!

I understand that any fees paid including the deposit are non-refundable. Once registration is confirmed, my place is held in the festival and fees cannot be refunded unless I purchase the protection offered below and ONLY for the Deposit amount of $150. I understand that Starbound Theatre is not affiliated with the Purchase Protection plan and I will have to work with Regfox on any claim.
I understand that any payments made after the 5th of the month payments are due are subject to a $30 late fee.
